The Scales of Ithlormest

The Scales of Ithlormest is an ancient tradition of Dragonborn tribes, who trace their lineage to one of the high dragons formed when Ithlormest cast his scales upon the world. There are groups of tribes who unite under the boundary of each jungled area, each jungle having a different color and lineage of Dragonborn.  They Live off the land taking only what they need. Each Tribe has a Seer, which they call a Shaman. This Shamam receives a message from Ithlormest each full moon and conveys the god’s Happiness or Disgust in the activities taken by the tribes between moons. Ithlormest’s Word is treated more vehemently than laws in most other known societies.

Since the creation of the tribes other races may have joined the tribes, but we haven't had contact with any who would second these claims. Each Tribe has two sacred animals, one of which it hunts and represents its tribe, and one which it will not harm, this is the will of Ithlormest. A side note: It is also a great conservation tactic so all the tribes do not eat the same beast and drive it to the brink of extinction.

As a rite of passage each member of the tribe must wander unclothed and unarmed into the jungle at the age of 13 and survive and hunt for 3 months, and if you return you will be welcomed back as an adult member of the tribe. The larger the animal pelt you bring back the more respected you will be, henceforth. You will wear that pelt until your deathbed when it is burned with you as a funeral ritual.

Horde of Koltigraak

The Horde of Koltigraak is currently under the vicious rule of Mondra, Wilder of Koltigraak. He is the ugliest and most brutal Orc alive today.  They have no claims of land, but scavenge through the world, taking what they need and sometimes even incur upon some claimed lands, destroying properties, and treating locals brutally. they seem to have no morals except what is best for the Horde.

The Horde seems to give the area known to us as “Dragon’s Vale” a wide berth, some say that an ancient dragon lords over those mountains. Other say it is a demon of great power. No one is really sure of what lies within the mountains, but whatever it is it seems like it is in the Hordes interest to stay away.

Leadership appears to be passed on when the Wielder of Koltigraak is defeated by a usurper in a trial by combat. The new Leader picks up Koltigraak and is the unquestioned leader of the Horde, and his title becomes “Weilder of Koltigraak.”

Male and female orcs seem to have equality in the battlefield and in their encampment, it seems the only thing they care for is a measure of brute strength. when away from the massive armies of the horde they seem to group in fives, one leader and four warriors. Scholarly magic is unheard of in the Orc Horde.
